Formed in 2008 our group started life as the Crucorney Energy Group. Its notable achievements were to arrange for the financing and installation of the solar panels on Pandy Village Hall which still operate to the benefit of the local community and also to purchase charcoal kilns and commence the production of charcoal using hardwood from the management of local woodlands.

In about 2014 its activities broadened and its name changed to the Crucorney Environmental Group which at times encompassed a small walking group, the litter picking group, a range of woodland skills courses, and a Woodlanders group for the children of local families. It worked with the Crucorney Community Council to set up and run the Crucorney.wales website which still runs today. In April 2019 the group was split into a Community Interest Company and the Crucorney charity which shares the income from the solar panels with the CCC and distributes funds to local causes.

The activities of the Crucorney Environmental Group CIC have subsequently become focused on the Woodland activities hence another name change in 2025 to the Crucorney Woodland Group CIC but which was broadly based upon the existing membership.
